Exciting news!

May 31, 2017

Hello friends! I'm very excited to announce that I have just become an Independent Consultant for PUREhaven Essentials, an American company making INCREDIBLE home and body products in their USDA Certified Organic facility in Rhode Island. Their products are affordable, cruelty-free, mostly vegan (except for the products containing beeswax), and AMAZING. I've been using several PHE skincare products for a few weeks now (my skin is SO SOFT) and I eagerly await a delivery of home products, in my quest to eliminate toxic chemicals from my home and beauty routines. I'll be hosting a launch party chez moi later this month for those who want to smell and feel these products before buying, but rest assured for those of you at a distance that the company has a generous return policy if you're not satisfied with your purchase.

Anyway, I'm posting TODAY, pre-launch, to let you in on THE LAST DAY of PHE's Hyaluronic Acid bonus. This product (which I wear during the day under my moisturizer) helps your skin to retain much-needed moisture.

Feel free to browse my PHE website, www.purehavenessentials.com/erikaperson, and let me know if you have any questions! ***Please be sure to use PARTY CODE 191861 when you check out.***

Stay tuned for more exciting news as we roll into June!

The Diva Digests

an opera singer's thoughts on music, food, and the meaning of life

about The Diva

I’m a California native, recently returned to the L.A. area after 15 years as an opera singer in the Big Apple. Singing has always been my favorite means of communication and self-expression. I’m a self-conscious self-editor, so singing someone else’s words and music has given me the freedom over the years to express what I couldn’t figure out how to say. Well, I’m tired of editing, so here I am, writing my own words (for better or worse). Welcome to my blog! I’ll write mostly about singing and eating, and how the two have intersected in my life.

My overall health is pretty good (and it’s a lot better than it used to be). Thank God, I’ve never had major illnesses. But repeat sinus infections for an opera singer is pretty bad news. When I realized I was making myself sick with what I was eating (hello coffee, fried food, and refined sugar!), it was a huge wake-up call. I could likely have saved myself an invasive surgery if I had known that my fibroids were growing because of my highly inflammatory diet. I thought surgery was my best option, because it was what my doctor recommended! (By the way, I have kept my fibroids in check and improved my sinus health – and lost 25 pounds – by engaging in new food habits that reduce inflammation.)
