December 22, 2012 @ 6:30pm — Pre-Show Performance of your favorite Christmas Carols and Hymns

The lovely and incredibly talented Laurie Strickland has written a new stage adaptation of Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol, with our beloved New York City in mind. NYC hasn't had its own production of A Christmas Carol, and Laurie and her partner Jamie Bullins have tried to right that wrong! Set in 2012, and starring Austin Pendleton as Scrooge, this company of talented actors endeavor to deliver NYC its very own Carol. Your Carol. Everyone's Carol

Please join us at the Irondale Center in Brooklyn. I'll be performing pre-show for the 7pm show on 12/22 (be there by 6:30) or come to one of the other performances (12/21 at 7pm and 12/22 at 1pm) to check out some of NYC's best buskers. December 2, 2012 @ 5:00pm — Jake Heggie's "The Deepest Desire" with the enCANTA Collective
with Nobuko Amemiya, piano

All Saints Church
230 East 60th Street (at 3rd Avenue)

I'm so excited to return to the enCANTA Collective to sing this incredible song cycle by American composer Jake Heggie, who wrote the operatic version of Dead Man Walking, based on the book by Sister Helen Prejean. Sister Helen also wrote the poems that inspired "The Deepest Desire." These are very special poems, and Heggie is a master at setting text. You won't want to miss this concert after reading this:

"Love is the pure energy of God: pray for it ardently.
Be grateful when it comes into your life: give of it generously.
Lavish it on others: even the undeserving ones.
Cultivate friendship with care: it is the best love of all."

It's so simple, isn't it? These should be words we all live by.

I hope you'll join us on December 2nd
